DRY FURMINT HUNGARIANS COME TO OXBOW @ Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant

Never heard of Furmint? It is the principal grape responsible for the legendary sweet wines of Tokaj, Hungary — these are the wines that graced the Courts of the Russian Tzars, the Hapsburg Empire, the Kings of France, and Thomas Jefferson’s table. Tokaj produces stunning dry wines from Furmint too, and they are finally starting to get much deserved international acclaim. Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant will be pouring nine dry Furmints from Hungary, and three producers will be in attendance to answer all your questions. The cost of the tasting is a mere $7, and you don’t want to miss it. For an additional fee of $10 they will have on hand three of the legendary sweet Tokajis to taste, a Szamarodni, a 5 Puttonyos and a 6 Puttonyos.
