The Oxbow Cheese & WIne Merchant has just released its February Wine Club wines. With this month’s selections they are highlighting a wonderful new Greek wine, a Moscofilero. The Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant, Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant’s sister store in San Francisco’s Ferry Building, has collaborated with renowned Greek winemaker George Skouras to bring this special cuvée of Moscofilero for the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant private label. Moscofilero is a highly aromatic white wine varietal of Greek origin, grown primarily in Peloponnese, and is most akin to the Muscat grape and shows similar characteristics of perfumed aromatics and high acidity. It has a cornucopia of aromas from fresh cut roses and white flowers like night jasmine, to green apple, white peach, and lemon lime zest. Fresh, vibrant and elegantly cool, this wine can be enjoyed on its own but will pair beautifully with apple-fennel chicken salad.
